There are 3 different modes:
Photo shooting - Shoot photo with a tap on the screen.
Automated Photo Capture - Takes a photo e.g. every 5 seconds. You can adjust this interval of course.
Video - When this mode is started, a video is recorded . A tap on the screen stores the video and re-opens the main menu.

You can make various settings, including fine adjustment of the recording window according to your wishes.
